- Is there a free option?
- Yes — Sprout. List one item with no monthly fee; we earn a 10% Processing and Trust fee on each sale instead of a subscription. Paid plans lower that fee and unlock more listings and tools. Every seller, free or paid, is verified.
- How long is the free trial?
- Individuals get 60 days, registered businesses get 30. The trial starts the moment you finish setting up your shop, with no card required and the subscription fee fully waived. You can switch tiers free during the trial. Standard seller fees are detailed in our Terms.
- Can I change tiers later?
- Yes. Upgrade or downgrade any time from /business/settings. Pro-rated billing handled by Stripe automatically.
- Can I sell subscriptions or charge monthly?
- Yes, on any paid plan once your payouts are connected. Set a listing's price to bill monthly, quarterly, or yearly, or add tiered plans with their own features. Buyers subscribe through Njuru and manage everything from their account, and you track active subscribers and recurring revenue from your dashboard.
- How do seller fees work?
- A Processing and Trust fee applies when a buyer pays through Njuru checkout, alongside Stripe's own payment processing which we pass through transparently. It funds fraud scoring, buyer protection, and dispute handling. The rate steps down as you grow: 10% on Sprout, 6% on Seed, 4% on Grove, 2% on Estate, and none on Reserve. - Do you handle taxes?
- Stripe Tax is enabled on every checkout. Sellers receive a full breakdown per order. Marketplace tax obligations vary by jurisdiction. We provide the data, your accountant files.
- What about Njuru Gives donations?
- Shoppers, individuals, and businesses can all opt in. Pick a cause you care about or nominate any 501(c)(3) by name and EIN, and round up your orders to it. Everyone who gives earns a Donor badge, we collect the proceeds through the year, and a yearly check goes to the chosen organization. 100% reaches the nonprofit; Njuru takes no fee on charitable amounts.
- Do buyers get anything back?
- Yes. When you pay through Njuru, a share of our Processing and Trust fee comes back to you as Njuru Points, redeemable toward future purchases, on top of the badges you earn the more you shop and review.
