Seller Policy
Effective May 23, 2026
If you sell on Njuru you agree to this Seller Policy in addition to the Terms of Service.
1. Verification
All sellers complete identity verification (Stripe Identity) before going live. Sellers in regulated trades, in-home services, healthcare, childcare, or financial services complete additional checks (business registration, professional license, background check, insurance) before listings are approved in those categories.
2. Listing accuracy
Listings must accurately describe the item or service. Photos must depict the actual product or a representative sample. Prices, shipping options, and policies must be honored as listed.
3. Fulfillment standards
Ship physical goods within the time window stated on the listing (default 3 business days). Provide tracking numbers via the seller dashboard. Service providers must arrive within the booked window and communicate any delays promptly.
4. Returns and refunds
Sellers must offer at minimum a 14-day return window on damaged, wrong, or not-as-described items. Sellers may set longer windows or all-sales-final terms within the boundaries of consumer protection law in the buyer's jurisdiction. Refunds are processed through Stripe.
5. Customer communication
Respond to buyer messages within 48 hours. Sellers with a "Fast Responder" badge maintain median response time under 4 hours. Threatening, harassing, or discriminatory messages are grounds for immediate suspension.
6. Prohibited items
You may not list:
- Government IDs, credit cards, or similar credentials
Listing any of these may result in immediate removal, account suspension, and forfeiture of pending payouts.
7. Pricing and platform fees
Set your own prices. We deduct a platform fee per sale (5% to 8% by tier) plus Stripe processing fees. Subscription fees are billed monthly to the card on file.
8. Heirloom Mode
If you enable Heirloom Mode on a listing, you grant Njuru permission to record provenance on every subsequent sale and to direct your configured royalty (default 5%) to your Stripe Connect account for resales made through the marketplace.
9. Reviews
You may not buy reviews, incentivize reviews, ask buyers to remove negative reviews, or retaliate against reviewers. You may reply publicly to any review on your storefront.
10. Tax responsibility
You are responsible for collecting and remitting sales tax, VAT, GST, and any other taxes that apply to your business. Stripe Tax is enabled to help; consult a tax professional for your jurisdiction.
11. Termination
We may suspend listings or remove access for material breaches of this Seller Policy. Pending payouts will be released after any required holdback period.
