Cookie Policy
Effective May 23, 2026
This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies we use, why, and how you can control them.
1. What is a cookie
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device when you visit a website. We also use related technologies like localStorage, sessionStorage, and short-lived tokens.
2. Categories we use
Strictly necessary: keep you signed in, remember your cart, route subdomains, prevent abuse. These do not require consent because the site cannot function without them. Examples: Supabase auth cookies, Njuru session ID, anti-CSRF tokens, cart sync state.
Functional: remember non-essential preferences such as your theme (light/dark), language, recently viewed items, and saved searches. We set these only after you accept the cookie banner.
Analytics: help us understand which pages and features work. We use first-party analytics only. We do not run third-party trackers.
Marketing: we currently do not run third-party advertising trackers on Njuru. If we add any, this policy will be updated and the banner will offer a clear opt-in.
3. How to control cookies
Click "Cookie preferences" at the bottom of any page, or in our cookie banner. Most browsers also let you clear or block cookies in their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent you from signing in or completing checkout.
4. Third-party cookies
Stripe sets its own cookies when the checkout form loads on /checkout, to prevent fraud. See Stripe's cookie policy at https://stripe.com/cookies-policy/legal.
