Getting started

What is Njuru.com?

Njuru is a premium global marketplace for products and local services from verified people and businesses. Shoppers discover creators, pros, and brands; sellers get a storefront, payments, and tools to grow. Every seller is identity-checked, so the whole marketplace feels considered rather than chaotic.

Do I need an account to shop?

You can browse freely. You only need a free account to check out, save wishlists, message sellers, follow shops, earn rewards, and track orders.

How do I buy something?

Add items to your cart and check out. Card details are collected directly by Stripe, never by Njuru. Some sellers also offer local pickup, and some accept paying them directly outside Njuru checkout (you will see the options on the listing).

How does local search and the map work?

Use the distance slider to draw a radius around you (up to 300 miles) and find nearby sellers. Maps are powered by Google Maps, and a seller's exact pin only appears when they have chosen to show their location; otherwise they are simply found through nearby search.

Rewards and Njuru Gives

Do I get anything back for shopping?

Yes. When you pay through Njuru, a share of our Processing and Trust fee comes back to you as Njuru Points (100 points = $1) that you can redeem toward future purchases. You also earn Njuru Points on purchases and unlock tier perks as your lifetime points grow.

What are achievement and donor badges?

You earn badges as you shop, review, and interact, for example First find, Reviewer, Tastemaker, Verified, and Donor. They show on your account and, where relevant, next to your name on reviews and offers so sellers can see who they are dealing with.

What is Njuru Gives?

Njuru Gives lets shoppers, individuals, and businesses round up their orders toward a cause. Pick a cause you care about or nominate any 501(c)(3), earn a Donor badge, and we collect the proceeds through the year. 100% reaches the nonprofit; Njuru takes no fee on charitable amounts, and a yearly check is sent to the organization.

Can I choose or nominate the nonprofit myself?

Yes. In Njuru Gives you can pick a cause area, or nominate a specific 501(c)(3) by name and EIN. We verify nominated organizations before disbursing, and your round-ups start accruing to your choice right away.

Selling on Njuru

How do I start selling?

Go to Sell, pick how you sell (individual or business), and complete a short onboarding: your shop details, location preference, and verification documents. Most sellers are live the same day.

What does it cost to sell?

Nothing to start and nothing per month. Selling on Njuru is free, with no subscription and no limit on how many products or services you list. A Processing and Trust fee applies only when a buyer pays through Njuru checkout, plus Stripe's own processing fee passed through transparently. The current rate and full details are in our Terms.

How do I get a branded storefront?

Register your business on Njuru and your storefront is there, at no cost, with your own banner, gallery, brand colors, and a shareable link and QR code. Nothing to buy and nothing to ask for. If you need several shopfronts under one business, or your own domain, get in touch and we will set that up with you.

Can buyers pay me directly instead of through Njuru?

You choose. Turn on Pay thru Njuru for secure card checkout with buyer protection, or Pay the seller directly so buyers reach you through Njuru and settle however you agree. You can offer both.

When do I get paid?

Njuru checkouts settle to your connected Stripe account, typically next business day. You keep the sale total minus our Processing and Trust fee and Stripe's processing fee, as set out in the Terms.

Fees and taxes

How do seller fees work?

A small Processing and Trust fee applies only when a buyer pays through Njuru checkout. It funds fraud scoring, buyer protection, and dispute handling, and a slice of it comes back to the shopper as cashback. Listing is free, so this fee is the only thing Njuru charges a seller. The current rate and full details are in our Terms.

Do you handle sales tax?

Stripe Tax is enabled at checkout and sellers receive a full breakdown per order. Marketplace tax obligations vary by jurisdiction; we provide the data and your accountant files. We are not a tax or legal advisor.

Trust, verification and safety

How does verification work and what do I need?

You verify a few things once. For identity, you capture your government ID with your device camera in the app and complete a short guided liveness selfie check, which confirms a real, present person; for businesses you add your registration and EIN, and some categories also ask for a license, insurance, or bond. Each requirement on the Sell page is clickable with guidance on exactly where to find it. Submissions are reviewed automatically, and by Njuru HQ when needed. Once verified, you go live and the seals show on your listings.

What is the verified badge, and what is sell-to-verified-buyers?

Verifying your identity earns a Verified badge that builds trust. Sellers can also choose to sell to verified buyers only, which protects them from anonymous or fraudulent buyers; unverified shoppers are prompted to verify before they can purchase, make an offer, or book.

How does Njuru keep buyers and sellers safe?

Every seller is identity-verified, payments run through Stripe, and we provide messaging, reviews, returns, refunds, and a dispute process. Suspicious activity is fraud-scored, and you can report any listing or user. Never move a transaction off-platform to avoid these protections.

Tools and support

What is Bella?

Bella is your built-in AI assistant. Shoppers can ask Bella to find and compare items; sellers can ask Bella to sharpen listings, draft replies, summarize reviews, and read their analytics. Look for Ask Bella in the corner of the screen.

Can I track sales that did not happen on Njuru?

Yes. In your business dashboard under Records you can log manual sales, leads, and customers, so your analytics reflect your whole business, not just Njuru orders.

How do returns, refunds, and disputes work?

Buyers can request a return from their orders, sellers approve and issue refunds with a return label, and either side can open a dispute if something goes wrong. Everything is tracked in your dashboard.

How do I get help or send feedback?

Open Help and feedback from your account or business dashboard to send a help request, bug report, or idea straight to our team. For sales or partnership questions, use the Contact page.
